No "GumShoes" For Providence's Pink-Out in 2019
In what is now a yearly tradition, Providence College wore pink trimmed uniforms and pink sneakers in an effort to raise money and awareness to fight breast cancer.
Hosting St. Johns on 2/20, the Friars wore hot pink sneakers to go with their hot pink trimmed uniforms.
A logical combination, but one they did not use last year.
In 2018 they wore a nearly identical uniform in a home game against Villanova, with the one difference being the sneakers were more of a bubble gum shade of pink.
Last season both Nate Watson and Malik White continued to wear the pink shoes after the "Pink Out" game, through the regular season, and into the Big East tournament.

Weather it was for good luck, or simply for fashion, the motivation for the continued use of the GumShoes was unknown. Whether they do it again for the 2019 tournament will at least be interesting to the niche overlapping markets of Providence fans and Sneakerheads. I am sure this is just the demographic Fox Sports 1 is hoping to attract!
